Nature's Carvings
A Delicate Arch
Delicate Arch is the signature arch at a National Park known for them; it photographs well.
The Chessmen
As you enter Goblin Valley State Park, you meet The Chessmen and this sets the tone for the rest of your visit.
Rainbow Bridge
With a span of 275 feet and a height of 290 feet, Rainbow Bridge is one of the largest natural arches in the world and the most impressive I have seen.
Skyline Arch
One of my favorites.
Welcome to Bryce
When Dorothy opened to door and stepped into the land of Oz, the magic began. I kind of felt this way stepping through this doorway in Bryce.
A Window at Bryce
One of the most picturesque parts of Bryce Canyon National Park is the Wall of Windows. Every time you look through a window here, you see something beautiful and you see something different.
A Window at Bryce
Nature is an artist, carving the earth into beauty beyond belief.
Skyline Arch 2
If Arches National Park had a second signature arch, I think it should be Skyline Arch.
Delicate Arch
I'm glad I waited for this shot. I watched a parade of people who wanted to pose in front of the arch, hoping to capture a moment. I waited patiently and captured my moment.
Landscape Arch
This one should be called Delicate Arch; it looks so fragile. My favorite arch.
Double Arch
Early in the movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" finds a young Indiana Jones at the Double Arch.
Framed by an Arch
Mesa Arch framing out the canyon below is a sight I will never forget.
Morning at Mesa Arch
While this is not the signature shot of this arch, I did not have to fight for this shot - I had this place to myself,.
Burning Bush
The Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness in Arizona is home to the Wave (on my bucket list) and the White Pocket pictured here. Everything about this place was amazing!
Frosted
This was carved over time. The detail will blow you away. The White Pocket in the Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness in Arizona is like no other place I have been.
White Pocket
Nature carves a landscape like the White Pocket and we can only look on in awe.
The Eye of the Dragon
A pool of water in a desolate place like the White Pocket forms the eye of the dragon.
A Bend in the River
Horseshoe Bend, carved by the Colorado River, never looked so good. If you look closely, you might just see the hint of a smile.
Dead Horse Point
Some of Utah's State Parks would be National Parks if they were anywhere else. Dead Horse Point State Park is one of them.
Valley of Fire
It was 105 degrees when we arrived at the Valley of Fire. It was cool just to be there.
Daybreak at a Mitten
The silhouette of a single mitten as the sun rises over Monument Valley illustrates the beauty of this special land.
The Left Mitten
Nature carved a pair of mittens in Monument Valley. Here is the left mitten.
A Pair of Mittens
The silhouette of a pair of mittens when a new day dawns is the start of a beautiful day.
Buckskin Gulch
Buckskin Gulch is one of the longest continuous slot canyons in the world; I just had a taste of what this canyon has to offer. I want to go back for seconds.
The Trail Narrows
As you get deeper into The Narrows at Zion National Park, the path ahead looks more inviting.
